MOPS
08/06/2010MOPS is about …
- Celebrating motherhood
- Meeting needs
- Making Connections
Experiencing God’s love…through relationships and resources.
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and is a program designed to nurture mothers with children from pregnancy through kindergarten. MOPS International exists to meet the needs of every mom – urban, suburban, and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single, and married moms- who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be!
MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with very unique needs. MOPS is designed to help moms form relationships with other moms through established local groups that provide a caring atmosphere for today’s mother of young children. Time and time again, MOPS moms share that the friends they make in MOPS are significant for this season of their life and on into their future.
Our group here at Revival Christian Fellowship meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, September through May, from 9:00am to 11:30am.
Please call Revival Christian Fellowship, or contact Revival MOPS via email at reivalmops@gmail.com, to find out how to register!
THE MOPPETS PROGRAM
While moms are enjoying a morning of relaxation and spiritual rejuvenation, their children are being cared for in a parallel program called MOPPETS. Our MOPPETS program is designed specifically to care for the needs of infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and homeschoolers. Every MOPPETS morning is filled with Bible stories, songs, crafts, playtime, and a snack. We have loving teachers and volunteers in each room to care for the children.
TUITION
Revival MOPS runs from September through May, and is made up of two semesters. The tuition fees per semester are as follows:
- $65 with no children in our MOPPETS program
- $75 with one child
- $85 with two children
- $95 with three children
- $100 with four or more children
Are You Ready To Enhance Your Mothering 'Strategy'?
The MOPS International theme for the 2011-2012 MOPS year is MomSense: Bold, Loving, Sensible. MomSense equips moms to embrace their mothering instincts and develop their own parenting style while navigating through the myriad of daily mom decisions. Most women wonder:
Should I trust my intuition?
With so much available information, how do I discern what's best?
What are the most important family values?
Developing a mothering strategy is somewhat like playing a game - and this year's theme is appropriately game related. Have fun being a mom! Playing games involves being bold and taking risks, loving those in the game with us, and being sensible while figuring out what works and what doesn't.
Just as in real-life, sometimes in games, unexpected "chance" events occur, abruptly changing our paths. We must regroup and determine our next steps. Sometimes we follow the instructions of "experts" or the advice of trusted friends. Teaming together with other moms is a great strategy. Relying on a spouse or mentor can help us play more effectively. And, most of all, developing a strong God-Sense is essential for mothering. Growing as a mom through the analogy of game playing assures every mom gains confidence in her abilities as a mom.
Combining her Mom Intuition and her Commen Sense helps a woman discover her own unique MomSense.
The spiritiual foundation of our theme this year is from 2 Timothy 1:7 - "God doesn't want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible." As you read the whole chapter, you see that Timothy had a strong mother and grandmother who nurtured his faith. Paul exhorts Timothy to use the gifts God has given him in a bold, loving and sensible way.
Join us this year as we journey through the "game" of motherhood and enhance our mothering strategy along the way!
