Colossians 1:9–11

1:9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and long suffering with joy;

Think of something you can pour a material into and shape it into a mold.  Maybe it’s Jello, or a popsicle.  What about plastic for phone cases, where it’s molded into a specific shape and size?  Today, Pastor John is warning you not to allow the world to shape you.  You want to be fitted and molded into what God’s created you to do and be.  The best place to find what that looks like is in His Word and through prayer, renewing your mind in the things of God.  He’ll transform you into something beautiful and just what’s needed.

Now, let’s join Pastor John in the book of Colossians chapter 1 as he begins his message, “Paul’s Powerful Prison Prayer.”
