When you’re arguing or discussing a topic with someone, to what do they appeal?  Some will appeal to tradition – this is the way I’ve always done it.  Others will appeal to experience – this works for me.  But today, Pastor John warns that there’s only one reliable guide for understanding God, and that’s His Word.  The Bible is your final court of appeal.  Tradition is not your authority.  Neither is your own reason and intellect.  Even your experience is not trustworthy.  Put your faith in the Word of God.
